The Unknowable Poet’s Best Met Sum
When the fun
Men are having
Is that of some
Other male company
They forget the run
In female minds
Reminding why
In Angels
True teaching rely
That they turn away
From such a day
That could’ve been sublime
In favour of
A peaceable lie
So honour
The women whose lives
Are spent young by time
As a minority among
Men no other women will touch
For a man’s mind
Belies his favour of such
As those women whose love
Never in motherhood
Well protects all our children thus
By showing to men
How ugly it gets
When
She is hating him such
For his failing to fly
Among Angels
To seek for the key
In the sky
Of every child’s need
For vindication just
Reality must
Not deny
A child who bleeds
Only for the sake of
The lies of false peace
As is enabled
By men that deny
Motherhood’s cry
So love the working girls
Whose lives
So painted will die
For in life
This is the right
Of belief
In her crime thus
Is at times
No more than
Making it safe to know how to touch
